After searching all over this frosty morning field I could find the rare green blackberry leaf or the ultra rare red dogwood leaf still holding onto a bush or tree. I have missed all the dazzling fall color in the forest as I was out of town. On the way out of the field and walking towards the car I spotted one lonely tree that somehow still had many leaves on it. It was a variegated Sweetgum tree that had frozen frosty leaves that were now just starting to melt as the sun rose over the horizon and struck them. The right sides of the leaves are frost edged and the middle and left sides are dripping wet.
