Walking back along the Erie Canal Pathway towards the Liftbridge in Adams Basin,  we see the sun has set and it is getting quite dark out already. The moon is out and visible in the Southern sky and the water of the Erie is quiet as it glides by at 1/2 mph towards the Hudson River.

Along the grass is a rare Erie Canal Section marker which is a bronze plaque used for surveying on this almost original part of the canal.  This is the first marker I have come across in all the years I have walked the canal.
