Walking down a street in Mendocino, California on the Pacific Coast, I came across an open barn door or shop that was full of slabs of Redwood. I had to stop in and see what it was all about.  They had slices of Redwood burl and longitudinal slabs for making benches. They explained they were rare downed trees of old growth Redwood. The prices were $750 and up each and how do you get it back on the plane anyway? They will sjio tgem anther for a few hundred more.  Needless to say I didn’t buy anything, but it was nice seeing and touching the wood.
