Looking around more in the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, NY there are hundreds of artifacts in the ancient cabinets and this gold object fascinated me mostly because it was small and intricate and had a great shadow cast.  Its a gold gilted bronze metalwork with two opposing Ibexes.  I am sure there once were gem eyes present but I like it the way it is now. It is a Chinese Harness ornament from the 2nd – 1st century BCE China. The first image shows the entire piece with shadow and the second has a closeup.  I took this in near darkness with an ISO of 2500 through a showcase.
