Here at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, they had a room full of contemporary chairs up on the wall.  Here are a few of the wood ones I could see:

This one was cut from red plywood and bent and pieced together:

ISO 1600, F/4, 1/45 sec, 75 mm Lens

ISO 1600, F/4, 1/45 sec, 75 mm Lens

Another laminated layers based chair, but this one was cut from one piece and the parts bent into shape:

ISO 1600, F/4, 1/60 sec, 90 mm Lens

This elaborate bentwood chair was woven even:

ISO 1600, F/4.5, 1/45 sec, 40 mm Lens
