I love visiting the Adirondack (formerly Guideboat) Museum in Blue Mountain Lake in the Adirondacks. I will share a few photos from a trip I took just this past July for a few days. The Adirondack Museum is spectacular and houses hundreds of famous boats and canoes including Nessmuck’s “Sairy Gamp” and the “Wee Lassie”. They have a live demonstration in their boatshop of a Adirondack Guideboat being made: Here they are putting on planks on the ribs one at a time, carefully beveling them so they can be tacked together and screwed to the ribs for a watertight fit.
