Great Camp Santanoni is an original Great Camp in the Adirondacks near Long Lake.  The camp is vast with thousands of acres and was taken over by the State of NY.  There are no motorized vehicles allowed in so you have to take the long road in by hiking, walking, bicycle or you can take the free horse drawn wagon provided by the state.  You can even spend the night near the camp in your tent.  Canoes and boats are provided free also if you wish to paddle the lake.

Here someone has approached one horse-drawn wagon and is greeting the mascot dog there the driver takes with him. The wagons are covered in case it rains. We will explore this area for a few posts. See Santanoni for more information.
