Here is a ride that is both spinning on its axis and tilting too, making some pretty strange rope like streaks.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
When I was last down in Florida, I missed going to the Carnival at dusk which is my favorite time, but was able to shoot some shots at night. Here is the “Zipper” in a still HDR. The “Zipper” itself is whirling around behind the sign with people screaming.

I recently took a quick day trip to Cornell in Ithica, NY and had all kinds of hopes on getting some nice photos on the way over. However, it was foggy and dark and I had to get to a day meeting. I got out late from the meeting and tried to stop a few places on the long drive home before it got dark. I passed this NY State Park North of Ithica and saw there was no attendants on duty. Then I remembered the Government shutdown. The park was open but they were not charging the $7 admission so I turned around and went in as I had not been there in a decade or more. The entrance is the outflow river from the falls and these photos are actually the lower and much smaller falls of the water running on the pure rock stream bed. I didn’t have another 2 hours to walk to the high falls and will have to go back the next time there is a Government shutdown.
Notice the low ISO of 50 in these views. Can anyone tell my why I used that?

After walking down the path and moving to a different view which was somewhat closer, I got this view:
Question: how do you pronounce “Taughannoch”? I have always said: “Tog’-an-auck” but I got scowled at and corrected to “Tah-Gan’-auk”.

This is the last view of Fall Color on the Erie Canal for this year. Here I was walking the Erie Canal pathway one last time before the snow fell and the leaves disappeared and finally the water was drained. They started draining my beloved water out of the Erie Canal last week and its about half way down now, signaling the end of boating season until late Spring next year.
Here, the only color on the trees left is from the burning bush near the Main Street Bridge in Brockport and a few rare maple tree.

I came back from a trip and walked the Erie Canal again and saw that I missed most of the Fall color. If you walk far enough you can find little pockets of bright yellow leaves still on maple trees here and there as seen in the following photos. Days later all this color was gone.

Here are a few more Fall images I took a week or two ago at the Mt Albion, NY Cemetery. The first is a tree by the stone archway entrance. It appears to be a cherry or plum tree. Most of the trees are bare already and it was cold and started to snow on me in the last few minutes.

Was this tree really that RED you say? I am afraid it was. I was so entralled with it that I walked from the other side of the cemetery to see what was going on. It looked like it was on fire or something. I think it was a Japanese Maple tree.

I have visited this cemetery in the Spring, but never in the Fall. I was actually almost too late, missing most of the Fall color. A few maple trees still had some leaves and much of the color is on the ground here. It was a very grey and cold day and it snowed on me while I was taking these.

This Fall there were some amazing changes on the Erie Canal. One evening I walked the canal and there were very few leaves down and the following morning after a brief rain shower all these golden leaves had fallen from the Honey Locust trees lining the pathway on the Erie Canal in Brockport. The golden tiny leaves had changed the red brick pathway into a sort of “Yellow Brick Road”. This was a grey and rainy day, but still very beautiful and there was even one Packet Boat still left on the Erie Canal.
