We are at the VIC or Visitor Interpretive Center at Paul Smith’s in the Adirondacks of Upstate New York. One of my favorite trails is the Boreal Life Trail. It goes way through the woods in different habitats of evergreen trees especially majestic ancient White Pines. The trail here is lined also with a bed of pine needles. White and Yellow Birch trees also are interspersed.
At the edges of the trail are different types of ferns and trillium.
