Down in the Hostoric District of Savannah District of Savannah, Georgia was this super pretty 3 plus story brick house. It was built by the Irish immigrant William Kehoe who made his fortune by working in a cast iron plant. He started low, the became forman, and eventually bought the business. He made ornamental ironwork for house exteriors such as on the Owens-Thomas house and columns and cast iron moldings including fences of all kinds. His elaborate house had all kinds of his cast iron on the outside and acted as a kind of advertisement. The house was built in 1892 at a cost of $25,000. It had been a boarding house a funeral parlor and hotel. Joe Nameth owned the hotel until 1990 and now it is one of the top 3 romantic hotels in America and the finest in Savannah.
