As we walk around the large and fabulous Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania we come into a room of sculpture and here are THREE famous sculptures by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Does he sound familiar? He should, as he designed the $20 gold piece for the United States which was one of the most beautiful coins ever produced. His first sculpture is called “The Puritan” produced in bronze in 1883-1886 and cast in 1899:
