We will walk around more on the campus of Florida Southern College looking at the many buildings designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Here we come across the Polk County Science building which on the outside is just a mass of pipes and tubes. Inside, there are well lit hallways with natural light, and gleaming metal tubes and of course the characteristic concrete and stone blocks he is famous for.

Just outside the doors on the sides and all around the building are covered walkways with gigantic metal clad supports:

THE FIRST HALLWAY LOOKS ESPECIALLY INVITING WITH COPIOUS NATURAL ILLUMINATION & INVITING ALCOVES. THE METAL CLAD SUPPORTS MUST HAVE SOME SPECIAL PURPOSE WHICH ELUDES MY UNDERSTANDING BUT LIKELY MAKE AN ARTISTIC STATEMENT BY THIS FAMOUS DESIGNER.
